Radians’ IQuity™ Anti-fog Demonstrations

Radians®, a leading manufacturer of high performance Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), recently demonstrated their premium IQuity™ anti-fog safety eyewear at the 2019 World of Concrete in Las Vegas, NV.

The demonstration consisted of a humidifier that compared eyewear without anti-fog coating to eyewear with IQuity technology. According to Alan Shepherd, national construction safety specialist for Radians, “Attendees simply could not believe how IQuity eyewear remained fog-free. ‘Wow, those really do work,’ was a repeated exclamation throughout the show,” says Shepherd.

According to Radians’ Eyewear Product Champion, Tim Wiener, “Radians’ IQuity™ anti-fog coating is an intelligent, breakthrough technology that provides one of the most superior and long-lasting anti-fog coatings in the marketplace, outperforming other mainstream hydrophobic coatings.”

“IQuity comes at a perfect time,” says Shepherd. “OSHA’s final ruling on crystalline silica means more concrete and construction workers will need to wear respirators along with their safety glasses. Unfortunately, wearing respirators and safety eyewear together often leads to fogged eyewear, but that will not be the case when workers are wearing IQuity anti-fog and abrasion resistance eyewear.”

“IQuity, a Super Hydrophilic water-based coating, lasts longer than solvent-based coatings,” explains Wiener. “The coating lasts much longer because the anti-fog and anti-scratch properties are thicker and regenerate over and over for long-term wear and durability. Compared to toxic, solvent based coatings, IQuity is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and is both EN166 K and N compliant.”

IQuity anti-fog coating is currently available in four popular ANSI Z87.1 impact resistant safety eyewear. Each safety glass is sealed in an air-tight bag for longer shelf-life and packaged in a designer box. They include Rad-Sequel™ IQ, Dagger™ IQ , Optima™ IQ, and the recently introduced Obliterator™ IQ with foam-lining and adjustable head strap.
