All AGV systems delivered by Amerden will be compliant with ANSI/ITSDF B56.5-2012, Safety Standard for Driverless, Automatic Guided Industrial Vehicles and Automated Functions of Manned Industrial Vehicles. Amerden has a representative on the ANSI/ITSDF B56.5 safety committee.
AGV System Retrofit
Retrofitting an AGV System is becoming increasingly popular because of the rapid advances in AGV control technology, computer hardware, and software. The mechanical parts of the AGV and peripheral mechanical hardware are usually functional while the vehicle’s on-board controls, the system’s off-board controls, and computer hardware are outdated or obsolete.
Amerden will do a complete analysis of your current system, reusing as much of the vehicle and existing software as possible to keep the cost down. We carefully plan each retrofit project to minimize interruptions to your current operation.
A well-planned vehicle and system retrofit can usually be accomplished without any interruptions to production and is an extremely affordable option compared with purchasing a new system. An AGV System retrofitted with new controls and wiring is usually less than half the cost, while delivering the same reliability and functionality as a new System.

Amerden can help you extend the life of your existing AGV. Our factory trained technicians repair a wide range of electronic/digital control boards as well as complete test, repair and rebuild of motors and drives.
When repair is not an option, we have a large inventory of replacement AGV system parts.
