Axxess Control from Epax – A Keyless Solution for Waste Handling Equipment

EPAX Systems, a leading provider of industrial waste compaction equipment, has introduced Axxess™ Control, a user-programmable keypad system that eliminates the need for traditional keyed power / control on/off switches while enhancing security and ease of use for waste-handling operations.

Designed for use across the full range of EPAX and other waste management equipment, Axxess Control integrates seamlessly with horizontal and vertical balers, stationary compactors, and self-contained compactors. The control system provides a simple, reliable way to restrict machine access to authorized personnel only, without the hassle of keeping track of a single key, managing multiple keys or replacing locks in the event of lost key(s).

Axxess Control allows users to turn equipment on or off with a 4-digit personal identification number (PIN). Facility managers can add or remove user codes in seconds, simplifying personnel changes and maintaining operational security. Up to 480 unique codes can be supported at any given time.

In addition to “powering up” equipment, the Axxess system can be configured to eliminate the start button entirely—equipment automatically begins its operating cycle once the authorized code is entered.

Built to perform in demanding industrial environments, Axxess features a NEMA-rated weatherproof design suitable for temperatures ranging from –22°F to 135°F (–30°C to 65°C). Installation and retrofitting are quick and straightforward, requiring only a 120V AC or 24V AC/DC power connection. A lighted keypad facilitates use in low-light areas.

By replacing mechanical key switches with programmable access, Axxess helps operators reduce downtime, improve security, and streamline equipment management.
