Creform Cart Meets the “Point of Use” Needs for a Manufacturer

Creform Corporation, a manufacturer of unique products for the design and building of material handling structures and automated guided vehicles has designed and produced a simple, yet effective, picking shelf carts for a manufacturer of electronic charging systems. The light-weight cart is used to store fasteners close to an assembly work cell. Its design is suitable for either manufacturing or warehouse use and can be used as a kitting cart or small component storage at the point of use and can easily be moved throughout the production areas.

The cart’s dimensions are 41″ W x 34″ L x 59” H and is designed to hold up to 500 pounds. The 28-millimeter pipe and joint cart features four 4-inch diameter urethane casters with two fixed and two that swivel and brake. The swivel casters at the corners ensure stability and allow the cart to be pushed down aisles but also easily move laterally for positioning.

The cart design creates straightforward visual management of inventory and also optimizes the space required in the workplace. The plastic work surface provides space to sort, count or sub-assemble spare parts. Above the plastic work surface, three levels of Creform flat pipe holds parts bins on the front and back of the structure. Below the surface are three layers of Creform skate wheel conveyor. Each of the layers will hold plastic bins with enough depth to create a two-tote storage area.

Its small footprint allows easy movement through space restrictive aisles and can be used for warehouse order picking or kitting within a factory.

As with all Creform carts, higher capacity and custom cart sizes and configurations are possible with the Creform system of 28-millimeter and 42-millimeter plastic coated steel pipes and metal joints. They can be configured for ESD (anti-static) applications. The component nature of Creform carts provides added value and ensures that if there is any damage or worn components replacement parts are readily available.

A variety of pipe color options are available and upgrade hitches are available for AGV delivery. Accessories include hooks, the previously mentioned label as well as writing surfaces with clip boards to name a few. Creform carts are available as a kit, assembled structure or in component form for a complete DIY solution.
