Toyota Material Handling Launches Efficient Lithium-ion Batteries

Batteries Provide Cost-Effective Energy Solutions

Toyota Material Handling, the North American leader in material handling products and solutions, is expanding its energy solutions portfolio with the introduction of Toyota’s new 5/35 Lithium-ion Batteries.

The 5/35 batteries are available in multiple configurations to fit the needs of most customers and enhance operational productivity. Providing a maintenance-free, cost-effective power source, the batteries are engineered and manufactured using the Toyota Production System and align with Toyota’s commitment to innovation, operational efficiency, and environmental stewardship.

Engineered for Your Operation

Available in 24V, 36V and 48V power capacities, the new IP69-rated lithium-ion batteries fit a variety of Toyota forklifts across multiple industries, including cold storage, food and beverage, and manufacturing. The new batteries operate with high performance in both hot and cold environments, and feature:

  • Integrated thermal managementfor optimal performance in temperatures from

22 F below zero to 122 F;

  • Built-in counterweight and adjustable spacersto ensure perfect fit and balance in a variety of compartments, eliminating the need for separate battery spacers;
  • Dual A320 charge portsfeaturing ergonomic access and single- or dual-charger compatibility; and
  • Dedicated truck connector with drive-away protectioneliminates disconnecting during charge.

Smarter Charging, Long-term Dependability

Toyota’s lithium-ion chargers are fully compatible with the new 5/35 Lithium-ion Batteries, offering full integration with the batteries’ onboard Battery Management System to ensure seamless communication and charging efficiency. The chargers support voltage ranging from 24 to 48 volts and current outputs to meet the needs of a customer’s specific material handling operation, and include:

  • Modular designfor easy service and future expansions;
  • Auto bypassof modules for uninterrupted operation;
  • UL® and CEC Certifications for compliance in the U.S. and Canada; and
  • Six-year limited warranty providing coverage for parts, labor, and travel cost.

The new lithium-ion batteries deliver charging times as fast as one hour using dual-cable fast chargers and a warranty cycle life up to 5,000 cycles. These batteries offer long-term, low-maintenance forklift power solutions that increase uptime and reduce operational costs.
