Efficient Vacuum Technology from Schmalz at Fabtech 2017

Schmalz Inc. will showcase its portfolio of powerful vacuum handling solutions for machining sheet metal at Fabtech 2017 in Chicago November 6-9. The highlights at booth B12071, include the Schmalz VacuMaster Comfort for fast and safe manual transportation of metal workpieces, alongside other Schmalz metal workpieces and fabricating products.

The VacuMaster Comfort is based on the modular system of the VacuMaster Basic and offers an operator handle that brings together all of the device’s controls as well as controlled vacuum generator for reducing the energy consumption. Large height differences are no problem with the swiveling and locking operator handle. The working posture remains ergonomic in any position. With the vacuum gripper shut-off valve, several vacuum grippers can be turned off for handling of cut pieces or pieces with gaps.

For applications in automated plants and machines, Schmalz will be exhibiting powerful individual components including suction cups from the SAXM, SAB and SAF series. They handle all kinds of sheet metal with outstanding dynamism. High shear and lateral forces grip even lubricated sheet metals with excellent reliability. Thin sheet metals are handled without any deep-drawing effects. The suction cups are extremely low-wear and robust.

The exhibit will also include our magnetic grippers SGM-HP/HT with very high holding forces for handling perforated plates, workpieces with complex laser-cut patterns, sheet metal containing drill holes and apertures and similar objects. It lends itself to handling ferromagnetic workpieces and can be used without the friction ring for higher holding forces. The HT version serves for higher temperatures.

Schmalz will also bring along its ready-to-connect complete grippers, including the gripping system FXP/FMP. This area gripper shows its strengths when moving semi-finished products layer-by-layer.
