PALLET WALKER® System Provides Flexibility in Pick Up/Drop Off Locations
Madras, OR, December 19, 2016— Integrate the warehouse and fleet environments using the KEITH PALLET WALKER® system. Installed in a trailer, the PALLET WALKER® system streamlines the transfer of goods. No dock is required to load or unload, providing flexibility in drop off and pick up locations.
The PALLET WALKER® trailer uses the same WALKING FLOOR® technology as other KEITH® systems, while addressing the problems unique to conveying pallets, drums and baled material with a standard moving floor. In addition to the horizontal motion of the floor, select slats of the PALLET WALKER® system move vertically. This unique motion of the floor prevents pallets from twisting, binding or sliding.
The floor easily starts and stops under full load and is capable of moving loads up to 30 tons. Compared to loads on roller beds, goods moved with the PALLET FLOOR® system can be stopped safely and easily when needed. Once loaded in the trailer, goods can be adjusted to balance the load over axles for proper weight distribution.
The PALLET WALKER® system also contains fewer pinch points than a traditional roller bed trailer. The floor is safe to walk and stand on, even when it is in operation.
Because the material is automatically indexed while loading and unloading, there is no need for personnel to enter the trailer, reducing the associated safety risk. The floor is even safe for forklifts, provided it is stopped with the lifting slats stored in the down position.
