Rockford Systems Announces Foot Pedal Switch for Smaller Machinery
Rockford Systems, LLC., a premier provider of machine safeguarding products and services, today announced a cost-effective alternative to expensive, oversized foot pedal switches. The new CTD088 foot switch from Rockford Systems offers the same level of foot protection, ease-of-use and productivity as larger pedals, but at a lower cost, and is especially effective for operators of smaller machinery such as riveters and welders, among others.
Because operators of smaller machinery typically do not wear steel-toed boots, the CTD088 features a narrower opening. As a result of the snugger fit, there is less potential for an accidental slip or release.
Although compact, the CTD088 is exceptionally rugged. Its robust design provides complete protection from washdowns that are frequently required in sanitary environments, as well as damage from oil and industrial coolants. Its strong cast aluminum shield prevents falling objects from injuring the operator or releasing the switch’s safety latch, while its treadle and base are constructed from cast iron for long-lasting durability. The metal frame also provides sufficient weight to keep the foot switch from sliding when being operated. To prevent the pedal from being a hazard, it is painted Alert Orange to indicate energized equipment on the plant floor, as is recommended by OSHA.
