FABTECH 2018 Announces New Education and Show Floor Features to Align with Emerging Industry Trends

FABTECH 2018, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, announces new education and show floor features designed to showcase emerging industry trends and highlight advancements in product innovation. FABTECH 2018 will welcome more than 35,000 attendees from around the world and over 1,500 exhibiting companies to celebrate manufacturing at its best when it is held November 6-8 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

Notable additions include the new Smart Manufacturing Hub, which will feature displays and daily presentations by companies like Acieta, Desktop Metal, Microsoft and Stratasys on advanced manufacturing technologies including automation, IoT, 3D printing and more. An expanded 3D/Additive Manufacturing Pavilion will introduce an Ask the Experts Knowledge Bar featuring small group sessions designed to provide answers to specific 3D/additive manufacturing challenges. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in more than 130 new and returning education sessions, including dedicated tracks focused on developments in 3D/additive manufacturing, automation, cutting and laser, finishing, forming and fabricating, lean, stamping, smart manufacturing, and welding fabrication.

“Core to FABTECH’s offering is it’s world-class education programming, designed to ensure the manufacturing community is able to get hands on and face-to-face with the latest technologies,” said John Catalano, SME senior director, FABTECH. “The education offered at FABTECH truly adds value to every attendee show experience. This is the one event that gives professionals from small job shops to the largest Fortune 500 manufacturers, first-hand access to the expertise and knowledge they need to expand skill sets and boost productivity. Attendees can see, experience and test it first at FABTECH.”

New session titles include Roadmap to Smart Manufacturing Transformation, Revolutionizing 3D Additive Manufacturing, Next Generation Laser Cutting Technology, and Integrated Solutions for Industrial Automation. In addition, FABTECH has added a new marketing and sales track and expanded the management and workforce development tracks, which cover executive and upper management top concerns, such as managing innovation for growth and next generation leadership strategies.

Education sessions are offered for attendees with a range of experience levels – from those new to the industry to those in need of a refresher to veteran attendees with years of experience who are seeking more in-depth training. Several sessions combine classroom instruction with expert-led guided tours on the show floow to see technology operating in designated booths.

Expert panel discussions will also provide an in-depth look at some of the industry’s challenges and opportunities, with a focus on providing solutions and support.  At FABTECH 2018, look for topics including: Innovate, Accelerate and Advance Manufacturing, State of the Industry, and Manufacturing and the New Generation Workforce.

FABTECH 2018 provides a platform for the industry to collaborate, discover innovation, share ideas and participate in hands-on product demonstrations and education sessions that highlight solutions attendees need to accelerate and grow their business.
