iF DESIGN AWARD 2015: Award-Winning Ergologistics from item

item wins the iF DESIGN AWARD for the 15th time: The new material picking system won over 53 judges with its form and function. It is the basis for item ergologistics – a synthesis of ergonomics and intralogistics.

When all elements slot seamlessly into place, visual appeal and functionality combine to deliver optimum ergonomics. The award-winning material picking system from item creates efficient intralogistics work benches that also take the strain off personnel. The end result is faster production and lower illness rates.

Ergonomics is worth it – after all, that is the secret to adapting production environments to suit personnel of all ages and physical needs. In fact, the end-to-end ergologistics process chain stretches from transporting goods and small parts right through to their manual processing.

As a result, the item Work Bench System has been awarded the AGR seal of approval by Aktion Gesunder Rücken e. V. (the Campaign for Healthy Backs), making it the first and only complete system to carry the seal. The iF DESIGN AWARD 2015 was presented in Hamburg, Germany, on February 27, 2015.
