KION North America participates in Dorchester Children’s Center’s annual Back-to-School Supply Drive

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — In August, representatives from KION North America Corporation delivered more than 70 backpacks, 50 composition notebooks and a large assortment of other school supplies to Dorchester Children’s Center.

Since December 2003, Dorchester Children’s Center has provided services for over 7,500 children. The organization provides a coordinated, research proven response to child abuse and neglect that reduces trauma for the children and their families.

Each year, Dorchester Children’s Center obtains a list from the school of each child who receives services from their organization. Their goal is provide each student with everything on his/her supply list in order to start the school year fully stocked and have the best chance at success. As the school year progress, the organization continues to provide supplies as new needs arise.

“These children are our future,” said Vincent Halma, president & CEO. “As a business in the Summerville community, we feel called to support the efforts of local organizations like Dorchester Children’s Center.”

Through initiatives like their annual Back-to-School Supply Drive and Operation E.L.F. Christmas Campaign, the organization is able to build a community network that helps children and their families have the freedom and resources to reach their full potential.
