National Safety Council Honors Rosendin Safety Expert

Jason Reaves Named to Rising Stars of Safety Class of 2024

Rosendin, one of the nation’s largest employee-owned electrical contracting companies, celebrated Jason Reaves for winning the National Safety Council’s 2024 Rising Stars of Safety award. Reaves is one of just 38 individuals from 8 countries who was honored for his proven record of safety leadership and dedication to promoting a cycle of continuous improvement.

As a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at Rosendin, Reaves supports a team of 75 union electrical workers and takes an innovative approach to protecting colleagues in high-risk environments. He leads safety initiatives like jobsite training, new hire orientation, and daily audits, and developed a mobile app that helps electricians follow a process to ensure equipment is de-energized before servicing.

Reaves works closely with the larger electrical team during bid reviews for commercial construction projects, where he determines if additional safety measures must be taken before a job begins. He is also a proactive communicator who writes weekly safety reports and shares insights from data analysis, incident assessment, and best practices resources from groups like the American Society of Safety Professionals. To ensure everyone at Rosendin can access the information, Reaves even created an internal webpage for employees to access these reports, along with training materials, safety documents, and a calendar of training events.

Reaves was recognized at the 2024 NSC Congress and Expo in Orlando during the National Award Ceremony in September. He was also featured in the September issue of Safety + Health magazine and was profiled on the Safety + Health website, alongside the other winners.
