New Extra Heavy-Duty Cabinet Offers Safer Gas Cylinder Storage

Illinois Engineered Products today unveiled its new Saf-T-Gas cabinet designed to provide safer storage of compressed gas tanks. Fully compliant with OSHA and NFPA safety requirements, the Saf-T-Gas cabinet is constructed of extra heavy-duty expanded metal mesh which allows for greater ventilation and prevents the buildup of dangerous, flammable gases.

The expanded metal mesh used in Saf-T-Gas also makes the cabinet much stronger and more secure than those made of welded wire mesh as their weld spots tend to fail over time. Expanded metal mesh, on the other hand, is extremely durable and difficult to breach without heavy cutting equipment.

Virtually Tamper-Proof
In addition, the diamond-shaped mesh openings of the Saf-T-Gas cabinet are narrower than those of welded wire products to further reduce the potential for tampering with the stored cylinders.

Ensuring that the Saf-T-Gas will hold up in the most challenging of industrial environments is its extra heavy-duty construction throughout. Not only are the frame and top made from sturdy 14-gauge steel, the mesh is made of the same robust metal.

Arrives Ready and Easy to Use
The Saf-T-Gas ships as a completely assembled welded unit which means that it is far sturdier than products that must be bolted together before use. It also means no time wasted assembling the cabinet.

Unlike some competing units that use a padlock for each of the two doors, Saf-T-Gas units lock with one padlock and one hasp. Which means fewer keys to keep up with.

Five different models of the Saf-T-Gas cabinet are available in versions designed to store 8 or 16 LPG cylinders; 9 or 18 compressed gas cylinders; and a combination model that stores 8 LPG cylinders and 9 compressed gas cylinders.  Saf-T-Gas cabinets are available at more than 600 dealers, nationwide and in Canada and Mexico.
