VPPPA Bestows Chairman’s Award of Excellence to Cintas Corporation

The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) is excited to announce they have presented the Chairman’s Award of Excellence, their highest honor, to Cintas Corporation. This award is given to an individual and/or organization who has demonstrated exemplary, industry-leading commitment to worker protection through excellence in the administration of an integrated health and safety management system.

Cintas began its journey to VPP with its Chandler, Arizona facility becoming their first to receive VPP certification back in 2010. Since then, Cintas has achieved over 100 VPP Star sites, making them the number one participant in VPP in the nation. They also have approximately 250 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing OSHA VPP recognition, or the equivalent under a similar certifying body.

J.A. Rodriguez Jr., Business EHSS Leader at Raytheon Company and Chairman of the Board at VPPPA, presented the Chairman’s Award of Excellence at the Opening General Session of VPPPA’s 2019 Safety+ Symposium, held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Accepting the award was Mike Thompson, Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer for Cintas Corporation.

Rodriguez said, “Every single attendee at the Safety+ Symposium knows the sleepless nights, the stress, the dedication and the hard work it takes to go through the rigorous VPP Star site process. What Cintas has managed to do is truly remarkable and we couldn’t be prouder to call them a VPPPA member, a Star-level sponsor, and most importantly, a partner in safety. Cintas Corporation’s journey is one that we should all strive to follow, and it is what makes them the perfect candidate for the Chairman’s Award of Excellence.”
