A+A 2025 Highlights Developments in Fire Safety
In an extensive activity area, the German Association of Factory Fire Services (WFVD) will show the latest developments and innovative measures in fire safety at A+A 2025, International Trade Fair and Congress for Safety and Health at Work (November 4 – 7 in Düsseldorf, Germany).
How do accidents typically occur? What to do if corrosive liquid leaks from a container? Often, the consequences are severe. Trainees of the factory fire brigades of Rain Carbon in Castrop-Rauxel, BP in Gelsenkirchen, Evonik Witten and Wesseling, Axalta Wuppertal and Ineos Phenol in Gladbeck will demonstrate in the WFVD activity area how to react during such incidents and how to treat injured individuals. They are also producing a film – in their own corporate gear – for the trade fair to illustrate how such accidents typically happen.
Another highlight will be the airfield firefighting vehicle, used to ensure fire control in air traffic areas. In a simulator, visitors can try to maneuver the massive vehicle.
How to do it right in Case of an Emergency
A simulation also enables exercises with a first-aid dummy. Like a human, the dummy has an airway resistance requiring correct head tilt positioning for ventilation. During chest compressions, it has a realistic thorax feedback and indicates whether the applied measures were effective.
Various companies will showcase product highlights. Dräger will provide insights into the latest measurement technology for drones. ForLife, as a fitness trainer, will present its tests and programs for firefighters and emergency services. The company Northdocks will invite visitors to hazard prevention training in virtual environments. It’s a mobile training solution that enables firefighters and organizations to practice realistic operation scenarios using fire extinguishers and branches in virtual reality, quickly, safely and independently of location. Modules such as CPR training, first aid and simulation exercises complement this system.
The future of Smarter PPE
The latest developments in clothing technology will be presented, along with a glimpse into the future of Smarter PPE. In collaboration with Smart PSA GmbH, cubos Internet GmbH will show intelligent indoor tracking with emergency buttons for alerts in hazardous situations. The buttons can also connect with further IoT devices.
Another important topic in the activity area is post-incident decontamination, organized by colleagues of FeuerKrebs, the Firefighter Cancer Association. This year, practical demonstrations will show how firefighters, supported by a hygiene assistant, safely remove their protective clothing without self-contamination or exposure to carcinogenic substances.
Live demonstrations daily from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
