Ergodyne’s New Cut-Resistant Gloves Answer Common Worker Complaints

They’re breathable, cool to the touch and boast the best oily/wet grip available (along with “pick a dime off the floor” dexterity). In other words, Ergodyne’s new ProFlex® ANSI Level 4 Cut-Resistant Gloves leave workers with no excuse.

“Imitation seems to run rampant in this specific PPE category,” says Aaron Skemp, product specialist, Ergodyne. “So we wanted to push forward with something truly new and innovative that really addressed the common complaints work crews have with cut-resistant hand protection.”

That something “new and innovative” comes by way of the St. Paul, MN safety work gear manufacturer’s WSX™ technology and TenaLux™ yarn. The former has out-gripped the five most common dips on the market today in 3rd party performance tests, while the latter gives workers breathable, cool-to-the-touch comfort without irritating steel or glass fibers.

Both are featured in Ergodyne’s two latest offerings in the ProFlex® line:

ProFlex® 7041 Level 4 Cut-Resistant Gloves

ProFlex® 7141 DIR Level 4 Cut-Resistant Gloves (featuring back-of-hand impact protection)

According the Center for Disease Control (CDC), work-related hand injuries account for over a million emergency room visits every year. In 70% of those cases, workers were not wearing gloves for reasons ranging from hand protection being too hot, bulky or it lessened their grip on the task at hand.

“Compliance is certainly not an issue exclusive to hand protection,” said Tom Votel, president & CEO, Ergodyne. “But it is, as we know, a disconcertingly common problem with that category. Just getting folks to wear their gloves at all is a win – and by all measures, both empirical and anecdotal, our newest gloves are helping workers do their job better, safer and more comfortably. This means of course, that they actually don’t mind wearing them, perhaps even enjoy wearing them, if you can imagine that.”
