ASSP Plans Three Dynamic Sessions for Safety 2024 in Denver
The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) will present three general sessions that attendees won’t want to miss this summer at the Safety 2024 Professional Development Conference and Exposition in Denver. The dynamic presentations bring thousands of safety and health professionals together to experience inspirational messages while learning something new to improve safety and health at their workplaces. ASSP’s signature event is August 7-9 at the Colorado Convention Center.
Safety 2024 is a vibrant learning and networking experience that highlights best practices, industry trends and the latest product innovations. The conference features general sessions, more than 200 continuing education sessions and a vast expo showcasing innovative products and services. Safety professionals from around the world gain practical information and trusted guidance they can immediately put to use at their organizations.
Here’s a brief summary of this year’s highly anticipated general sessions at Safety 2024:
- “Empower Your Teams With Positive Accountability” from 8-9:30 a.m. MT on August 7 features Jessica Kriegel, Ed.D., chief scientist of workplace culture at Culture Partners. In this opening general session, Kriegel will share innovative strategies that can elevate personal and professional accountability while transforming organizational culture. Her four data-driven steps can empower teams to take ownership of not only their individual actions but also their company’s success;
- “Artificial Intelligence in EHS: Conquering Fears and Embracing Frontiers” from 1-2 p.m. MT on August 8 is a panel discussion moderated by Kevin Slates, Ed.D., M.P.A., CSP, clinical associate professor in applied health science at Indiana University. The panel will explain the transformative potential of AI in shaping the future of work, improving worker safety and elevating the EHS profession; and
- “Thinking Inside the Box: How Tough Times Fuel True Creativity & Innovation” from 2:30-3:30 p.m. MT on August 9 features author and speaker Kyle Scheele, known as “the patron saint of crazy ideas.” In this closing general session, he will explain how limitations can foster creativity, just like Apollo 13’s square filters in round tubes. Attendees will gain insights on navigating challenges and finding solutions that lead to better outcomes.
