New DuPont Coverall Provides Chemical Protection for Workers Using Safety Harnesses

Tyvek® 500 HP Model TY178 from DuPont is the first single-use, multi-attachment harness protection garment that is designed to protect wearers and their harnesses from chemical hazards.

DuPont has launched the DuPont™ Tyvek^® 500 HP Model TY178 coverall, a unique patent-pending solution to address the challenge of supporting the protection workers using safety harnesses from exposure to particle and/or light liquid aerosol hazards. Designed to be worn over a full-body harness, the innovative garment allows workers to access and deploy multiple D-Rings of the harness. Compatible with a variety of full-body harness models, Tyvek^® 500 HP may significantly improve personal protection for workers in a wide variety of applications, including painting, cleaning, and building maintenance.

Tyvek^® 500 HP is the first single-use, multi-attachment harness garment that is designed to protect wearers and their harnesses from external chemical threats. Worn over the safety harness, it allows full freedom of movement and features multiple access points so that the harness attachment points can be deployed efficiently. The garment has four attached sleeves for use with front, back, and side D-Rings, as well as an off-centered zipper entry to accommodate the front D-Ring sleeve for frontal connection.

Made of the unique DuPont™ Tyvek^® high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fabric, Tyvek^® 500 HP is lightweight, soft, and breathable, making the garment particularly comfortable to wear. This level of comfort in combination with the ability to help protect the full-body harness from external contaminants, may encourage longer periods of safe wear-life.

Tyvek^® 500 HP can be recycled, if not contaminated, through the Tyvek^® protective apparel recycling program.
